By highlighting a new product line featuring scarves, coats and purses, Coach’s How-to-Wear video series spreads awareness about the company’s evolution from handbag designer to total lifestyle brand.
The new product line, named Legacy, builds on Coach’s classic handbag line by emulating the iconic look developed by acclaimed fashion designer Bonnie Cashin. Her ground-breaking designs for the 1962 launch of Coach’s women’s accessories division changed the course of 20th century fashion, and created a cherished style tradition that informs Coach designs to this day.
To ensure that the How-to-Wear videos maintained Coach’s famous design aesthetic, Slanted Studios emulated Cashin’s distinctive illustration style throughout their artwork and cel animation. This stylistic unity ensured that even though the videos showcase new products in modern day New York City, they reaffirm Coach’s position as a classic style authority
